how it works

The Tropf-Blumat is filled with water. This water is not used for watering but for control. If the soil gets dry, the Tropf-Blumat releases a bit of water onto the soil. The pressure goes down inside as a result and a valve opens. Once the soil is moist enough, the water is drawn back into the Tropf-Blumat through the clay cone and the valve closes. A simple principle of physics but highly effective and reliably for many years.

BLUMAT SENSORS
The Blumat sensors are the base of every Blumat system. You can choose to use the sensors as stand alone drip irrigation or you can choose to combine the sensors with the drippers or Blusoak tape.
BLUMAT DRIPPERS
Blumat drippers are an optional accessory that can be added onto the sensor. If you are supplying water to many plants then using drippers can save you money versus using an individual sensor for every plant. Five drippers can be connected to one sensor.

BLUSOAK TAPE
Blusoak tape connects to the original Blumat sensor. The benefit of Blusoak tape is that it reaches a lot of soil at one time, whereas the sensors and drippers cover a smaller surface area. Blusoak tape is a cost-friendly alternative to using multiple sensors or drippers.
