(For clients who are unable to meet in person. We will meet via Google Meet.) This coaching option is for potential clients that have been too hesitant to start their fruit and vegetable garden or for those who have been unsuccessful in the past. Let's make a plan together and boost your gardening confidence! I want to be your green thumb cheerleader! For this coaching option, we start at ground zero. First, we talk about budget. We discuss realistic costs of having a garden and weigh the pros and cons. We will discuss what vegetables and fruits you can successfully grow in your region and at what time of year they grow best. We will make a plan for where you should put your garden by analyzing shady areas, the sun's travel path over your house, soil composition and more. We will talk about the pros and cons of raised bed gardening versus direct gardening. We will talk about pre-mixed soils versus "homemade" soils and how to test soils for nutrients. We will make a plan for how your plants will receive water. After our session together I spend some time analyzing your budget and comparing it to what your garden desires are. I will work up a realistic purchase plant for what your budget can accommodate. I will create your entire garden layout that takes into consideration how many people will be eating from your garden, which plants are good companions, which plants do not do well together, spacing between plants, sunlight, each plants soil preferences and more.
